While Japanese dating simulators have been a longstanding genre for quite some time, few have been able to broach the topic of pigeon-dating like last year’s Hatoful Boyfriend, an HD remake of the original pigeon dating sim released for PC, Mac, and Linux – luckily, PS4 and PS Vita can flock to the game later this month.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, publisher Devolver Digital revealed that Hatoful Boyfriend will be releasing on PS4 and PS Vita later this month on July 21st, 2015, coming roughly one year after the game’s release on PC, Mac, and Linux.

Alongside the game’s new release for PS4 and PS Vita, Devolver also detailed that the game will include Cross-Buy support, allowing those that buy the game on either PS4/PS Vita to automatically receive a free copy of the game for the other console. In addition, the new release will also include new content such as an additional romance path/character previously only available in the game’s sequel, Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star, which is also expected to release later this year.

Hatoful Boyfriend is currently available for PC, Mac, and Linux, with the game’s PS4 and PS Vita release coming on July 21st, 2015.

Ever wondered what it’s like to date a pigeon? Wonder no more. Hatoful Boyfriend is here, and it’s about to go big, or should I say huge? The best bit is I’m in it. Kid you not. Ages ago I was asked by a dude in Japan if I minded having my pic in a pigeon dating game. Of course, my answer was yes. Initially I thought it might help me with my own dating strategy. Sadly that didn’t happen, but I was well chuffed to be in it, and now it’s over here.

Anyway, for those of you new to the blog you’ll notice my love life has been somewhat lacking for quite some time. Some would say non-existent, so you’ll understand my excitement when I spotted a rather lovely thing the other day.

Her name was Salli. She’d flown all the way from Tunbridge Wells on a day trip:

We chatted for a while about the ins and outs of pigeon life in Brighton, including the recently discovered rampant gay gull scene – see last post. She talked about Tunbridge Wells and how the best thing about it is the Farmer’s Market, particularly the one on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month outside the Town Hall.
